Lars Berg
Born in Sweden, Lars graduated from the Gothenburg School of Economics in 1970. From then until 1994, he held various executive positions in the Ericsson Group. For ten years he was a member of the Ericsson Corporate Executive Committee, with full responsibility for the Cables and Business Networks division.
He was also president of the subsidiaries Ericsson Cables AB and Ericsson Business Networks AB. The first 14 years of his career at Ericsson were spent in different managerial positions in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.
From 1994 to 1999, Lars served as Chief Executive Officer of TELIA Group and President of TELIA AB, the leading telecom operator in Nordic/Baltic area.
In early 1999, Lars joined Mannesmann AG as a member of the Executive Board with responsibility for telecommunications, the company’s fastest growing business. Subsequent to Mannesmann’s acquisition by Vodafone in 2000, Lars has been active as an independent consultant and as a non-executive board member of several companies in the Telecommunications, IT, Media and Financial industries.
Lars is often in Spain; for six years and until it was recently re-absorbed by the Telefonica Group, he was a member of the board of Telefónica Móviles, a leading global wireless operators.
